General Description: Okan is a yellow to golden brown colour sometimes with a green tinge. The sapwood is pale in colour and distinct from the heartwood. The average weight is about 960 kg/m³ (60 lb/ft³) at 12% moisture content.
It can be difficult to obtain a good finish due to the grain pattern and is known to severely blunt knives and saws. However, it will saw satisfactory and plane is a low cutting angle is used.
